St. Thomas the Apostle School, Pasadena's "SOLES FOR SOULS" Shoe Drive
Tons of shoes arrived at the doors of Catholic Charities' community centers (Brownson House and San Juan Diego Center) from the generosity of St. Thomas the Apostle School community. Many people have benefitted from them already. Just recently, one homeless guy found a good pair of rubber shoes to replace his worn out ones. He was simply grateful for such a blessing in addition to the bag of food he got at San Juan Diego Center. There were tears of joy in his eyes before walking out with words of genuine gratitude: "Thank you so much for all that you do! It's a big help now more than ever as I struggle to get my life back again." Surely, one act of kindness multiplied in many ways creates a ripple of goodness and mercy to so many unknowing people who are in need of the most basic things perhaps many would simply take for granted. Thank you St. Thomas the Apostle School community! May you be blessed all the more!
ST. LORENZO RUIZ CATHOLIC PARISH COMMUNITY GIVES TO SAN JUAN DIEGO CENTER, EL MONTE
March 21, 2016. A happy surprise knocked on the door of San Juan Diego Center when Mauricio Zavala, board member of Catholic Charities and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish, Covina started to unload his van filled with generous donations from the community of St. Lorenzo Church, Walnut CA.
God's divine Providence was really at work for the donations arrived just in time when the food pantry was almost empty and in need of replenishment from the Food Bank.
Elena, Martha and Sam are happily busy putting all the donations in order and preparing them for the many clients who come to fall in line at this small center every single day. God is really good and provides for the needs of our less fortunate brothers and sisters.

St. Rita School Thanksgiving Outreach
at Brownson House Center
November 19, 2015 - A group of parents and students came all the way from Sta. Rita School in Sierra Madre to bring their bags and boxes of donations full toys, clothes, food items along with gift cards and bus tokens to Brownson House Center in Boyle Heights. It took them two weeks to gather the items as they always do every year for the past five years. CCLA is very grateful for sharing their blessings...may they be blessed a hundredfold!
